Edmonds College can prepare you to earn a certificate for a career in one of the fastest-growing professions in the healthcare industry in less than a year. Our Medical Assistant program will prepare you to work alongside medical providers in medical offices and clinics to provide the best possible care for patients and play an integral role in patient care management. Once you complete our program, you can provide clinical and administrative support in outpatient settings in the community, ambulatory care centers, and hospitals. Courses combine online learning with on-campus skills labs to learn the art of medical assisting and culminate in clinical externships that provide real-world experience in the profession.

Medical Assistants
Perform administrative and certain clinical duties under the direction of a physician. Administrative duties may include scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, billing, and coding information for insurance purposes. Clinical duties may include taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, drawing blood, and administering medications as directed by physician.
