Graduates of this program earn multiple certifications for operating heavy equipment and powered industrial trucks. Lecture portion covers instruction and general background knowledge on safety and equipment, providing a good base of theoretical knowledge. Hands-on segment gives students the opportunity to drive and operate a variety of equipment including forklift/hi-lo's, skid steers, backhoes, front-end loaders, excavators, and lifts.

Operating Engineers and Other Construction Equipment Operators
Operate one or several types of power construction equipment, such as motor graders, bulldozers, scrapers, compressors, pumps, derricks, shovels, tractors, or front-end loaders to excavate, move, and grade earth, erect structures, or pour concrete or other hard surface pavement. May repair and maintain equipment in addition to other duties.
