Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Technology (HVAC) is considered a high-demand occupation throughout Texas. HVAC technicians install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair heating and air conditioning units. Technicians may work for a general contractor, in building maintenance, for companies that build the HVAC units, equipment manufacturing, suppliers, and sales. Beginning HVAC students can earn an EPA 608 Certification, which enables them to handle, recover and dispose of refrigerants. North Central Texas College is recognized as an HVAC training site with the Texas Department of License and Regulation (TDLR).
