The Accounting Clerk Certificate program is designed to provide knowledge in principles and concepts of accounting. Upon completion of this program, the student among other items would able to:
- Define and use accounting terminology, generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), business transactions, and explain the purpose of the accounting system,
- Explain company set up, new files, customers, vendors, invoices, purchase orders, and general journal entries and describe how to enter and edit data accurately,
- Describe income and expense accounts, and asset & liability accounts,
- Discuss vendor payroll services, backup and restore data, create and remove closing dates,
- Explain tax guidelines for business startup, EIN numbers, and tax record keeping, saving reports and forms as a PDF file, etc.
