The Alternative Energy Automotive Technician Certificate will provide students with the skills and competencies to diagnosis and repair the growing number of alternative energy vehicles on the road. Courses in the certificate will cover theory, safety, repair and diagnostic techniques for the following types of vehicles: hybrid, fully electric, hydrogen, compressed natural gas, propane, bi-fuel and other emerging technologies. Students completing the certificate should be prepared to sit for both the Light Duty Hybrid/Electric Vehicle Specialist Certification Test (L3) and Alternate Fuels Certification Test (F1) Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) exams.
