The dental assistant training program runs for 10 consecutive weeks. The clinical portion of class is held 8 hours per week on either Wednesday, Friday or Saturday. This blended training program requires a Modern Dental Assisting book/workbook with an at home study format, online testing modules along with a large portion of the course being actual hands on clinical training. During the training course, each student will be required to do a 40 hour practicum in local dental office.

Perform limited clinical duties under the direction of a dentist. Clinical duties may include equipment preparation and sterilization, preparing patients for treatment, assisting the dentist during treatment, and providing patients with instructions for oral healthcare procedures. May perform administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, billing, and coding information for insurance purposes.

Admissions
Dental Assisting Institute requires verification of a high school diploma or GED prior to attending. Applicants who possess a certification in the medical field (CNA, LPN) are eligible for admission in lieu of a high school diploma or GED. A high school student may attend the program with parent or guardian permission and a copy of current high school transcripts.
