The Phlebotomy program provides education for individuals seeking a career in the laboratory as a California Certified Phlebotomy Technician I (CPT I). The 320-hour basic certified CPT I Program provides 80 hours of didactic theory, 80 hours of in-class practicum, and 160 hours of clinical. The didactic and in-class practicum will take place at the main campus in Richmond, California. The clinical portion will take place at participating affiliates in Northern California. Program participants can expect substantial off-campus study in preparation for classroom training.

Admissions
All admissions requirements and prerequisite course requirements must be completed prior to applying to the program.
- Verification of completion of high school, or GED.
- Valid American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers card. An original card or e-card is required, copies will not be accepted.
- Passing score on the Wonderlic Assessment Exam. Note: All foreign diplomas and transcripts must include a notarized translation in English and must be evaluated by an NACES-approved foreign transcript agency prior to submission. The Kaiser Permanente School of Allied Health Sciences is accredited by the WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC).
