The Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning (HVAC) program at Western Nevada College is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to pursue a successful career in the HVAC industry. The program combines theoretical instruction with hands-on training to ensure students are well-prepared for the demands of the field. Coursework in the HVAC program covers a wide range of topics related to heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. Students learn about the principles of thermodynamics, electrical systems, system design, load calculations, refrigeration cycles, and environmental controls. They also gain an understanding of energy efficiency, sustainability, and the latest industry trends and technologies.
