In WMCI’s Carpentry II class, students develop higher-level carpentry skills to achieve excellence in commercial construction. NCCER’s curriculum in carpentry teaches trainees to construct, erect, install, and repair structures and fixtures made from wood and other materials. This curriculum covers content such as building materials, cabinet fabrication, and advanced wall systems to successfully work in a variety of construction activities.

Carpenters
Construct, erect, install, or repair structures and fixtures made of wood and comparable materials, such as concrete forms; building frameworks, including partitions, joists, studding, and rafters; and wood stairways, window and door frames, and hardwood floors. May also install cabinets, siding, drywall, and batt or roll insulation. Includes brattice builders who build doors or brattices (ventilation walls or partitions) in underground passageways.
