In this program, graduates earn CCMA and CMAA certifications. Students are prepared to manage the administrative and clinical aspects of a medical setting and perform administrative tasks in the offices of physicians and other health practitioners. Professional medical assistant duties include updating and filing patients’ medical records, filling out insurance forms, arranging for hospital admission and laboratory services, and handling billing and bookkeeping. There are no prerequisites for this program.

Administrative duties may include scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, billing, and coding information for insurance purposes. Clinical duties may include taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, drawing blood, and administering medications as directed by physician.
