A Residential/Commercial Electrician installs, maintains, and repairs residential and commercial construction electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures. They ensure the work is in accordance with construction standards. They plan the layout and installation of electrical wiring systems and equipment based on job specifications and local codes. Their experience level and technical knowledge will allow them to:
- Install and troubleshoot residential wiring, service entrance equipment, and risers.
- Bend and install commercial conduits, pull wire and properly terminate as needed.
- Identify the electrical hazards and properly utilize electrical safe practices.
- Properly utilize fall protection.
- Be knowledgeable in electrical prints, symbols, and design.
- Be knowledgeable in the proper use of electrical hand tools.
- Be knowledgeable in the proper selection and use of power tools and drill bits.
- Be knowledgeable in the identification and proper use of various electrical conduits, fittings, wire sizes, and the various styles of electrical trim materials and designs.
- Be knowledgeable in the identification and use of various electrical testing and measuring tools.
