Valencia’s CDL A program will prepare anyone wanting a career as a commercial tractor-trailer driver. The program far exceeds the minimum requirements of the Florida CDL License test to ensure drivers are highly skilled, courteous to other drivers, know all safety requirements, and can understand the rules of the road. Our comprehensive training program is 85% hands-on.
Students learn important concepts like vehicle inspections and backing maneuvers as well as valuable professional and interpersonal skills to ensure that not only get a job but can turn it into a lifetime career. Drive a tractor-trailer combination or a truck with a capacity of at least 26,001 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW). May be required to unload truck. Requires commercial drivers' license. Includes tow truck drivers.

Admissions
Enrollment Requirements:
- Must be 18 years of age at start of class
- Proof of high school Diploma/GED equivalent
- Read, write and comprehend English
- Possess a valid Florida driver's license
- Possess a CDL-A learner's permit
- Must pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination
- Must have Negative DOT Drug test within 2 weeks of the start of class
- Provide a copy of your driving record (7 years)
- Have no more than 6 current points on your motor vehicle report
- Have no current drug or alcohol charges on your motor vehicle report
- Have no outstanding suspensions or tickets on your motor vehicle report for prior 5 years
- Meet eligibility requirements for a commercial driver’s license: 7-year driving record
