This program prepares students to enter the field of carpentry (commercial and residential). Students will learn structural framing, construction math, stair layout, construction drawings, principles of project management, concrete formwork and reinforcement, anchoring systems, door, and window systems, fall protection, and site safety. Students have the opportunity to earn NCCER Carpentry Level 1, NCCER Core, Site Safety, Rigging/Signal Person, Fall Protection, and OSHA 10 credentials. Credit hours listed in CEU (continuing education units).

Carpenters
Construct, erect, install, or repair structures and fixtures made of wood and comparable materials, such as concrete forms; building frameworks, including partitions, joists, studding, and rafters; and wood stairways, window and door frames, and hardwood floors. May also install cabinets, siding, drywall, and batt or roll insulation. Includes brattice builders who build doors or brattices (ventilation walls or partitions) in underground passageways.
