Building Trades Apprentices in the Plumbers & Gas-fitters Local Union No. 1 apprenticeship program learn their craft through a five-year regimen of on-the-job training and attendance at regularly scheduled technical classes, designed to supplement their field training. Apprentices in Plumbers & Gas-fitters Local Union No. 1 are also privileged to be able to attend most classes during the daytime. The curriculum of studies employed by the Plumbers & Gas-fitters Local Union No. 1 apprenticeship program is approved by the New York State Department of Education, and primarily follows the curriculum established at the national level by the U.A. Training Department.
