Phlebotomy is the practice of drawing blood from patients and taking the blood specimens to the laboratory to prepare for testing. Phlebotomists are skilled health care professionals who have been trained to collect, transport, handle and process blood and other specimens for laboratory analysis using venipuncture and micro-collection techniques. As a Phlebotomy Technician, you are an important member of the clinical laboratory and healthcare team. The Phlebotomy Technician Program is designed to provide the student with the skills, knowledge, and training to be an effective member of the healthcare team. The curriculum prepares individuals to obtain blood and other specimens for the purpose of laboratory analysis. Students will learn proper technique for venous and capillary blood specimen collection. Coursework includes proper specimen collection and handling, communication skills, health and safety, anatomy and physiology and medical terminology.

Admissions
1. I understand in order to receive a refund of any deposit/down payment, minus the processing fee; I MUST submit a written request to cancel the course BEFORE THE 1st DAY OF CLASS. 2. If applying for a refund, $300.00 of my Registration Fee is NON-REFUNDABLE. 3. If applicable, I will adhere to the signed payment plan agreement or I will be dropped from the course for non-payment. 4. There will be a CPR course offered during the program from the American Heart Association. If a student wants the CPR Card (Optional), the cost is $50.00. 5. I MUST be on time for class/theory and or clinical/Lab training. 6. I will not exceed more than one (1) day of absence or I will be dropped from the course. 7. All theory, clinical and lab hours must be made up in order to successfully complete the course. 8. A valid social security number is required.
