Medical Billing and Coding is an intensive accelerated program for individuals who want to build careers in the medical and health insurance fields. Students are expected to take certification examinations and seek employment upon completion of the program. This is a one-semester evening program. Upon completion, students are prepared to take the following National Health Careers Certification exams: Certified Billing and Coding Specialist (CBCS)/ Certified Electronic Health Records Specialist (CEHRS). This program offers resume and career coaching preparation services.

Compile, process, and maintain medical records of hospital and clinic patients in a manner consistent with medical, administrative, ethical, legal, and regulatory requirements of the healthcare system. Classify medical and healthcare concepts, including diagnosis, procedures, medical services, and equipment, into the healthcare industry's numerical coding system. Includes medical coders.
