The Accelerated IT Academy—Programming and Coding Certificate of Specialization provides a pathway for entry-level Software Programming and Coding jobs. This program simulates real-world experiences using C#, Java, database management, hands-on projects, critical thinking skills, and debugging and testing exercises. Additionally, in this program students will build a portfolio of evidence demonstrating skill mastery. Graduates will be qualified for employment in support and junior developer positions in software developer settings or IT-related fields. The five courses in this program are transferable to the Software Developer Associate in Applied Science program.

Software Developers
Research, design, and develop computer and network software or specialized utility programs. Analyze user needs and develop software solutions, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis. Update software or enhance existing software capabilities. May work with computer hardware engineers to integrate hardware and software systems, and develop specifications and performance requirements. May maintain databases within an application area, working individually or coordinating database development as part of a team.
