Carpenters
Construct, erect, install, or repair structures and fixtures made of wood and comparable materials, such as concrete forms; building frameworks, including partitions, joists, studding, and rafters; and wood stairways, window and door frames, and hardwood floors. May also install cabinets, siding, drywall, and batt or roll insulation. Includes brattice builders who build doors or brattices (ventilation walls or partitions) in underground passageways.

Admissions
To become an apprentice, you must meet all of the following requirements:
- Be at least eighteen (18) years old (or 17 with parent/guardian approval),
- For certain trades and in certain states, have a high school diploma or GED,
- Be able to perform the work of the trade,
- Have your own transportation or a reliable way to get to job sites and apprenticeship classes. You do not need prior experience working on a job site or with hand tools or machinery.
