The Electrical Powerline Technician program gives the student an education leading to technical competence in the field of high energy electrical power and distribution systems.  The primary objective is to give the student a mastery of the fundamentals of high energy electrical systems and prepare the student to perform monitoring, maintenance, and repairs on various energy distribution equipment.

Please note: Candidates for this program will be required upon entry to provide a Valid Class C Driver's License, a valid Social Security Card (Authorized to work in the US), 18 years of age, DOT Physical Medical Examination Report and Certificate, and provide a copy of a Non-Certified Driving Record from the Department of Motor Vehicles for each state they have resided during the last 7 years without warrants or pending criminal charges. The Non-Certified Driving Record will have to be provided a second time, no more than 30 days prior to driving in the CDLA 100 Commercial Driver's License course. Ability to pass a DOT Drug Screen will also need to be provided at this time. Out-of-State students will be required to enter the program with a Class A Commercial Driver's License from their state of origin or must stay in local housing or dorms to be eligible to change residency to the State of Louisiana while enrolled in classes.
