The Practical Nursing Diploma curriculum prepares individuals with the knowledge and skills to provide nursing care to children and adults. Students will participate in assessment, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care. Practical Nursing is a competitive admission program beginning in the spring of each year. Practical Nursing is a one-year diploma program, and all applicants must meet the minimum requirements to be considered for admission. However, meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission. All applicants must complete Phase I through Phase II listed below and schedule a Phase II - Review meeting in order to submit the Practical Nursing Program Application before the deadline listed above. Qualified applications will be ranked based on points.

Care for ill, injured, or convalescing patients or persons with disabilities in hospitals, nursing homes, clinics, private homes, group homes, and similar institutions. May work under the supervision of a registered nurse. Licensing required.

Admissions
How do I apply for admission to the Practical Nursing program? Complete Phase I and II of the admissions requirements listed previously. Collect Nurse Aide Certification/passing test results or registry information, ATI TEAS Score Report, and any additional documentation to meet minimum requirements, if applicable. Schedule your Phase II review meeting as directed in the Phase II Student Checklist section to complete the Practical Nursing Degree program application by the deadline for that entry term.
