With accounting credentials, you will be ready to seek employment as a payroll clerk, accounts receivable clerk, or accounts payable clerk. Job responsibilities can include preparing financial statements, processing payroll, and preparing minor tax returns. Accountants assemble, analyze, process, and communicate essential information about financial operations. The Accounting curriculum conveys this knowledge and gives students the opportunity to develop skills in accounting principles. Students study business law, finance, management, and economics as well as communications, computer applications, financial analysis, critical thinking, and ethics.

Compute, classify, and record numerical data to keep financial records complete. Perform any combination of routine calculating, posting, and verifying duties to obtain primary financial data for use in maintaining accounting records. May also check the accuracy of figures, calculations, and postings pertaining to business transactions recorded by other workers.

ACC 120 is a pre-requisite for ACC 140, ACC 150, and ACC 180 and it should be taken in Fall. ACC 140, ACC 150, and ACC 180 are only offered in Spring. BUS 121 and CIS 110 may be taken in Fall or Spring.
