Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) provides future officers with the essential skills needed to perform on the job as a law enforcement officer. The program uses state commission-mandated topics and methods of instruction. The Basic Law Enforcement Training program at SPCC is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills needed for entry-level employment as law enforcement officers. - Must be sponsored or employed by a NC public law enforcement agency prior to enrollment and maintain that sponsorship/employment throughout the course.

Police and Sheriff's Patrol Officers
Maintain order and protect life and property by enforcing local, tribal, state, or federal laws and ordinances. Perform a combination of the following duties: patrol a specific area; direct traffic; issue traffic summonses; investigate accidents; apprehend and arrest suspects, or serve legal processes of courts. Includes police officers working at educational institutions.
