The areas we live in are growing at a non-stop pace, and with a growth rate of over 10 percent predicted for the future, a career in construction is a good choice. This technical certificate focuses on fundamental knowledge in the construction field, as well as the skills and aptitudes in building science, construction materials, methods, and estimation that are essential to succeed in this field. Students in this program have the option to add additional skill sets to customize their path. This certificate is upward compatible with the A.S. degree, in Construction Management.

Carpenters
Construct, erect, install, or repair structures and fixtures made of wood and comparable materials, such as concrete forms; building frameworks, including partitions, joists, studding, and rafters; and wood stairways, window and door frames, and hardwood floors. May also install cabinets, siding, drywall, and batt or roll insulation. Includes brattice builders who build doors or brattices (ventilation walls or partitions) in underground passageways.
