The Sacramento County Sheriff's Office offers a P.O.S.T.-certified Basic Academy designed to prepare individuals for a career in law enforcement.This intensive 24-week program encompasses 956 hours of comprehensive training, covering legal education, tactical skills, physical conditioning, and ethical development.Classes are typically scheduled Monday through Thursday from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM or Tuesday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 6:30 PM, with occasional weekend and evening sessions.Upon successful completion, recruits receive a Certificate of Completion for a P.O.S.T. Basic Course, qualifying them to apply for law enforcement positions throughout California.
