The School of Nursing is a vital component of Riverside City College (RCC) and embraces the mission, values, and traditions of both the RCC District and the College. The School of Nursing prepares quality nursing healthcare providers using a student- centered approach through teaching excellence in an environment conducive to learning. The Vocational Nursing (VN) program prepares individuals to provide general nursing care under the direction of a registered nurse, physician or dentist, including the collaboration with other professionals and consumers in the delivery of holistic healthcare.

Licensed Practical and Licensed Vocational Nurses
Care for ill, injured, or convalescing patients or persons with disabilities in hospitals, nursing homes, clinics, private homes, group homes, and similar institutions. May work under the supervision of a registered nurse. Licensing required.

Admissions
- Valid United States social security number or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) (required for clinical facilities).
- Valid Government issued picture ID (Driver’s License, Identification Card, Passport, Military ID).
- Valid American Heart Association Healthcare Provider CPR card.
- Clear criminal background, drug and health clearance required at time of program admittance. If the educational process is interrupted a new background check/drug screen will be required.
- Complete physical exam and immunizations.
- CPR card and health clearances must be kept up to date during the program for continued enrollment.
