The Medical Assistant (MA) Fellowship at Propel America is a tuition-free asynchronous academic and clinical training program that includes a 40-week academic experience followed by a 180-hour clinical externship at OLOL (Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center) or Ochsner. Fellows will be enrolled online at the College of Healthcare Professionals (CHCP). Fellows will receive support from Propel in the form of 1:1 Coaching, Professional Development Training, and Interviews!

Perform administrative and certain clinical duties under the direction of a physician. Administrative duties may include scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, billing, and coding information for insurance purposes. Clinical duties may include taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, drawing blood, and administering medications as directed by physician.
