Help desk technicians are indispensable in organizations of all sizes and industries, providing crucial IT support services. They handle everything from deploying and maintaining hardware and software to securing and upgrading systems. Help desk technicians are excellent communicators and resourceful problem-solvers, interacting with users, management, and external providers. Starting as a help desk technician is a great entry point into a technology career, even without prior experience. With career growth opportunities, you can advance to roles such as a systems administrator, DevOps engineer, or IT support manager. During this 12-month apprenticeship program, students build a solid foundation in IT. You'll learn to set up, configure, and verify equipment and software, install updates, configure backups, and ensure security.

Computer User Support Specialists
Provide technical assistance to computer users. Answer questions or resolve computer problems for clients in person, via telephone, or electronically. May provide assistance concerning the use of computer hardware and software, including printing, installation, word processing, electronic mail, and operating systems.

Admissions
To be eligible for this apprenticeship, you must demonstrate proof of the following prerequisites:
- Be over 18 years of age and have the right to work in the U.S.
- Have a high school/secondary school degree, vocational certificate, or equivalent. Technical Prerequisites
- Fundamentals of computer literacy (high-school degree level).
- Basic experience in IT, including:
- Setting up, configuring, and validating the functionality of computer hardware, desktop operating systems (such as Windows), and software.
- Setting up virtual machines (e.g., with VirtualBox) and understanding scripting (e.g., PowerShell).
- Backing up and securing workstations (e.g. with Windows Defender).
