PWD operates apprenticeships for several in-demand careers in both the skilled trades and STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) fields. Our apprentices receive both on-the-job and classroom training, along with mentorship from experienced employees, to prepare them for lifelong careers. Each apprenticeship starts with a 6-month period of temporary employment. After that, apprentices become eligible to be promoted to a permanent Civil Service title
