The entry-level Residential Cooling and Heating Technician Career Certificate Program is designed for students who wish to pursue a career in the cooling and heating industry. The program is 750 clock hours in duration and is designed to be completed in less than one academic year (two terms). This is based on instructional time of 25 hours per week for 30 weeks, following the 15-week term.

Admissions
Admission Requirements
- No high school diploma or GED is required. (To be eligible to receive federal student aid, you must have a high school diploma or a General Education Development (GED) certificate, or have complete homeschooling.)
- Complete an Application for Admission, located at www.palmbeachstate.edu/admissions/Admissions-Applications
- Take the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) exam if not exempt from TABE testing. To determine if you are exempt, please go to this link and view TABE STandards.
- Attend a program information session and meet with Trade and Industry Advisor. Completion Requirements
- Pass courses that include exams and hands-on skills assessments.
- Students must successfully complete all courses listed in the catalog for this program.
- Students must pass the TABE with the following minimum TABE test scores: Reading: 9; English: 9; Mathematics: 10 or qualify for TABE exemption.
