Operating Engineers and Other Construction Equipment Operators
Operate one or several types of power construction equipment, such as motor graders, bulldozers, scrapers, compressors, pumps, derricks, shovels, tractors, or front-end loaders to excavate, move, and grade earth, erect structures, or pour concrete or other hard surface pavement. May repair and maintain equipment in addition to other duties.

Admissions
Please provide minimum qualifications (#1 and #2) and supporting documents (#3) before the end of the application period you intend to apply. Application will be rejected if the required documents are not submitted.
- Provide proof of at least 18 years of age.
- Provide proof of high school graduation or GED equivalency.
- or: Completion of an Associate’s Degree or higher that is recognized by the Department of Education.
- or: Test scores within 12 months on Alex, COMPASS or Accuplacer with placement at or above Math 20 or higher, Reading 115 or higher & Writing 101 or higher; or completion of the equivalent ABE course.
- Submit documentation for points for ranking placement:
- Points are awarded for: valid driver’s license, CDL, military, education, certifications, work experience documented on company letterhead, and interview score.
