The Computer Networking CISCO Certificate program is a gateway to entry-level networking jobs and IT careers. CISCO Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Routing and Switching curriculum builds the skills necessary to succeed in jobs related to networking computers and devices. Computer networks are critical parts of almost every organization. Network and computer systems administrators are responsible for the day-to-day operation of these networks. Network and computer systems administrators work with the physical computer networks in a variety of organizations and therefore are employed in many industries. Network and Computer System administrators also find work as Network Administrators or Network Support Specialists. Other career information includes Network Administrator (O*Net OnLine) (Bureau of Labor Statics), and Network Support Specialist (O*Net OnLine) (Bureau of Labor Statistics). This program is not designed for students wishing to transfer to a four-year college for a bachelor’s degree. Students planning to transfer should consult with an MCC counselor. Potential transfer schools include Ferris State University, Grand Valley State University, and Western Michigan University.

Perform system monitoring and verify the integrity and availability of hardware, network, and server resources and systems.
