Work Ready - Carpentry Certificate

This course is designed for the student to learn skills and techniques, and different types of carpentry procedures. The course will use the career connections curriculum and be instructed by an experienced carpenter. The Work Ready Certificate is a 15-credit hour program designed to broadly prepare students to enter the workplace. The student will be introduced to basic computer skills, workplace skills, basic English, math, and leadership skills.

Carpenters
Construct, erect, install, or repair structures and fixtures made of wood and comparable materials, such as concrete forms; building frameworks, including partitions, joists, studding, and rafters; and wood stairways, window and door frames, and hardwood floors. May also install cabinets, siding, drywall, and batt or roll insulation. Includes brattice builders who build doors or brattices (ventilation walls or partitions) in underground passageways.
