The Construction Pre-apprenticeship program prepares individuals to enter a short-term training program that leads to a rewarding career pathway. During classroom instruction, participants will learn OSHA safety, blueprint reading, tool usage, and other trade skills for a job in construction. The Carpentry Pre-apprenticeship program is a one-year program where an experienced journey worker will train you in health and safety protocols, introduce you to basic carpentry skills, and introduce you to basic carpentry tools and their proper use, framing, and measuring up accurately. Upon completion, you will receive a culmination of one or more industry-recognized credentials.

Carpenters
Construct, erect, install, or repair structures and fixtures made of wood and comparable materials, such as concrete forms; building frameworks, including partitions, joists, studding, and rafters; and wood stairways, window and door frames, and hardwood floors. May also install cabinets, siding, drywall, and batt or roll insulation. Includes brattice builders who build doors or brattices (ventilation walls or partitions) in underground passageways.
