Students who complete the certificate will be able to: Apply knowledge of financial accounting, including content, concepts, and structure of the various statements for internal and external use. Evaluate the process of identifying, gathering, measuring, summarizing, and analyzing financial data in business organizations. Study of purpose, theory, and specific methods of accounting: Systems and methods employed in accumulating data for financial statements; income measurement including cost measurement, classification, and expiration; revenue recognition and measurement.

Compute, classify, and record numerical data to keep financial records complete. Perform any combination of routine calculating, posting, and verifying duties to obtain primary financial data for use in maintaining accounting records. May also check the accuracy of figures, calculations, and postings pertaining to business transactions recorded by other workers.
