Skills needed to be a UA local 72 plumber include: Reading and interpreting designer drawings. They have a full grasp of specifications to determine the layout of water supply, waste, and venting systems. Detect faults in plumbing appliance systems, and correctly diagnose their causes. Install, repair, and maintain domestic, commercial, and industrial plumbing fixtures and systems. Locate marking positions for pipe connections, passage holes, fixtures in walls, floor measuring, cutting, and bending threading pipes using hand and power tools or machines. Join pipe-fitting together using soldering techniques, compression fittings, threaded fittings, and push-on fittings. Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges.
