This is a fully online asynchronous program designed to prepare learners in medical coding to work in either an inpatient or outpatient setting. This program offers training in inpatient and outpatient medical office administrative practice, pathophysiology, and pharmacology for medical coders, as well as medical records management. The program teaches International Classification of Disease (ICD), Current Procedural Terminology (CPT), and Healthcare Common Procedural Coding Systems (HCPCS), as well as coding regulatory issues, medical and ethical issues, computer usage, medical data entry, and insurance and billing practices.
