Many people believe that all manufacturing has moved offshore, but Ohio’s manufacturing industry is still alive and well. In fact, it remains one of Ohio’s most important economic activities, and it offers excellent job opportunities for skilled machine operators, programmers and technicians. Computer Aided Machining (CAM) is an important part of the manufacturing process as it facilitates the control of automated machines to product parts. The Computer Aided Machining Operator program is a one-year certificate program that builds on the Short-Term Computer Aided Machining/Manufacturing Process certificate. It is designed to provide you with the knowledge and practical skills necessary to setup, program and operate computer numerical control (CNC) machines in a manufacturing setting. You’ll get an excellent background in math and problem solving as well as real-world training with modern equipment.
