Ironworkers Local Union 808 Joint Apprenticeship Training is a four-year training program designed to produce skilled mechanics in numbers that will adequately supply the industry's needs. LOCAL 808 APPRENTICESHIP 4-YEAR CLASSROOM COURSE SCHEDULE Additional training opportunities are also offered to our apprentices and journeymen throughout the year.

Use hand-welding, flame-cutting, hand-soldering, or brazing equipment to weld or join metal components or to fill holes, indentations, or seams of fabricated metal products.

Admissions
You MUST have the following documents with you when you show up for the interview. No applications will be accepted without all documentation:
- Birth Certificate to prove you are at least 18 years old.
- Social Security Card (we will also accept the document from the Social Security office that you have requested a new card).
- Valid Driver’s License.
- OSHA 10 Certification In construction. https://www.careersafeonline.com/courses/osha-10-hour/construction
- Two Letters of recommendation from previous employers, school counselors, teachers or Ironworkers that are sponsoring you.
- You must be physically capable of performing the work. You will be required to lift & carry heavy objects, walk over rough surfaces, climb ladders and stairs, pull, bend, kneel & reach.
- You must be comfortable working at extreme heights, long hours and able to work in extreme heat, cold, muddy and/or dirty conditions if necessary.
- You will be required to pass a drug tests upon acceptance to the program and submit to random testing throughout your career.
