This certificate provides opportunities for students interested in the installation in both residential and commercial settings, maintenance, and repair of a broad spectrum of electronic–based equipment classified as low-voltage. The Low-Voltage Systems Technician also installs remote monitoring systems in commercial applications and can retrofit current systems with remote monitoring technology. The LVT program uses the National Center for Construction Education Research curricula that include competency-based assessments. NCCER is a national industry-recognized credential with the Department of Apprenticeship Standards
