HCC's Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) apprenticeship program is a pathway for aspiring or current professionals to excel in the healthcare industry. Apprentices will work under the direction of doctors and registered nurses in a variety of healthcare settings. Key roles and responsibilities might include: providing safe, effective, efficient care and treatment to patients; performing procedures for biological specimen collection, transport, and disposal; Identifying and reporting relevant patient information to practitioners; assisting providers and nurses with the preparation of equipment before and during treatment; communicating effectively with guests, visitors, clients, patients, and the health care team; and functioning as an effective team member.

Admissions
Standard requirements for admission are:
- Be 18 years of age or older by the program start date.
- Earned high school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to meet physical job requirements.
- Have a valid driver's license and/or reliable transportation.
- Ability to pass an employer background check & drug screening.
- Completion of ENGL121.
- Completion of MATH132/138/141 or higher.
