HCC Digital and Information Technology Center of Excellence works with the HCC West Houston Institute’s Entrepreneurial, Small Business and Innovation Center to integrate the program with the community. The endeavor includes the creation of collaborative teams comprising small businesses, academia, and students in project-based learning to develop apps using the Swift curriculum to address real-world needs. The college also sponsors various community learning events and opportunities such as Black Girls Code, IT summer camps, the Women in IT initiative, computer training workshops for adults 50+

Software Developers
Research, design, and develop computer and network software or specialized utility programs. Analyze user needs and develop software solutions, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis. Update software or enhance existing software capabilities. May work with computer hardware engineers to integrate hardware and software systems, and develop specifications and performance requirements.
