This two-part comprehensive 64-hour course will introduce students to the history of plumbing, its importance to society, and the evolution of the trade, specific to New York City’s potable water systems and sanitation plants. Students will gain knowledge of safe plumbing practices after an introduction to the materials and tools necessary to perform tasks, along with their safe storage within guidelines. The course will focus on the installation and maintenance of residential and commercial plumbing.

Assemble, install, alter, and repair pipelines or pipe systems that carry water, steam, air, or other liquids or gases. May install heating and cooling equipment and mechanical control systems. Includes sprinkler fitters.
