Cypress Mandela Training Center offers a FREE 16-week pre-apprenticeship program for Bay Area men and women ages 18 and older. This program is both hands-on and in the classroom. Students will be prepared for skilled trades jobs that are relevant to today’s construction industry. Students may earn up to 7 college credits from UC Berkeley, UC Davis, or Laney College. The program provides training, skills assessment, and testing, as well as job placement. Instruction is led by experts from all over California that guest teach alongside our in-house staff members.

Carpenters
Construct, erect, install, or repair structures and fixtures made of wood and comparable materials, such as concrete forms; building frameworks, including partitions, joists, studding, and rafters; and wood stairways, window and door frames, and hardwood floors. May also install cabinets, siding, drywall, and batt or roll insulation. Includes brattice builders who build doors or brattices (ventilation walls or partitions) in underground passageways.
