The Accounting Technician Certificate of Achievement prepares students for entry-level employment in the field of accounting or bookkeeping. Students who complete this course are able to perform a variety of functions in an accounting department. Students will learn to maintain and update financial records, prepare and analyze financial statements, and review bookkeepers' and clerks' work for accuracy and completeness.

Compute, classify, and record numerical data to keep financial records complete. Perform any combination of routine calculating, posting, and verifying duties to obtain primary financial data for use in maintaining accounting records. May also check the accuracy of figures, calculations, and postings pertaining to business transactions recorded by other workers.

Admissions
You are eligible for admission if any of the following apply:
- You are 18 years of age or older
- You are a high school graduate
- You have passed the California High School Proficiency Exam, and have been awarded a Certificate of Proficiency by the State Board of Education
- You are a secondary school student in grades K-12 and are recommended by your principal or designee to enroll in college level courses
- You are an international student who has been accepted for admission
- You are an indentured apprentice enrolled in related training programs
