Welding students will advance and adapt their skills in the Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) processes to pipe welding. The student will learn the techniques required of a certified pipe welder. Through lab instruction, training emphasis is placed on proper tacks and feather edging, filler metal angles and manipulations for open root pipe welding are taught. Class will consist of welding on carbon steel pipe with the GMAW-SC and FCAW processes.
