Learn how to test and troubleshoot heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration residential and light commercial (HVAC/R) systems. You start with theory and learn the principles of heat transfer, for example—and you immediately apply these principles with hands-on labs and class projects. Learn to read schematic diagrams. Understand the principles of electricity and electrical components. Gain confidence in your ability to safely work with electricity. All of this comes together when you install, troubleshoot and service an HVAC/R system. You’ll use your new knowledge of how the equipment works and your hands-on experience to bring the equipment back into working order.
