This program is designed for students who seek certification as law enforcement officers. Graduates will be eligible to sit for the state’s certification examination. The program is certified by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission. This program is limited access and has additional admission requirements.

Police and Sheriff's Patrol Officers
Maintain order and protect life and property by enforcing local, tribal, state, or federal laws and ordinances. Perform a combination of the following duties: patrol a specific area; direct traffic; issue traffic summonses; investigate accidents; apprehend and arrest suspects, or serve legal processes of courts. Includes police officers working at educational institutions.

Admissions
To apply for admission into Criminal Justice programs, each applicant must: • Be at least 19 years of age • Be a citizen of the United States • Possess a high school diploma or GED • Never have been convicted of any felony, or of any misdemeanor involving perjury or false statement • Be of good moral character* • Have successfully completed a Level 11 background investigation (after packet review) • Have passed a physical examination by a licensed physician (M.D., D.O., Nurse Practitioner or Physician’s Assistant) within 6 months prior to the start of class • Have passed the C-BAT for Corrections or the LE-BAT for Law Enforcement • Have passed the Physical Abilities Course (PAC) (Law Enforcement Only) • Never have been dishonorably discharged from the military • Be in good academic standing at the College of Central Florida and have no outstanding financial obligations to the college • Complete the CF admission process at www.CF.edu/Apply and declare the appropriate academic code
