Cobb County maintains a strong commitment to the high-quality training we are known for throughout the southeast. This state-of-the-art training facility provides training well in excess of the state standard of 12 weeks to build Cobb County Police officers who are prepared to succeed in their mission of serving the community through any circumstances.
The highly qualified and experienced training staff provide exceptional instruction and leadership in academic studies, practical scenarios, mindset training, de-escalation, use of force, defensive tactics, emergency vehicle operations, firearms, and many other topics. In order to develop highly capable, healthy, and fit police officers, physical fitness is an integral part of the training evolution. Physical fitness training consists of HIIT-style workouts using mainly bodyweight exercises and running.

Police and Sheriff's Patrol Officers
Maintain order and protect life and property by enforcing local, tribal, state, or federal laws and ordinances. Perform a combination of the following duties: patrol a specific area; direct traffic; issue traffic summonses; investigate accidents; apprehend and arrest suspects, or serve legal processes of courts. Admissions
To be considered for employment as a police officer with the Cobb County Police Department you must:
- Be 21 years of age - unless military or police explorer, we will accept you at 19 ½ years of age
- Possess a high school diploma or GED
- Be a U.S. citizen Pass: Physical Agility Test Comprehensive Background Investigation Post Entrance Examination
