This certificate program is intended for students who are not pursuing the Design concentration in the Studio Art and Design track of the Art Major, but who wish to add a qualification in Graphic Design to their area of study or who are returning to school to obtain such a qualification. The certificate program is an alternative to a traditional four-year art degree for creative and self-motivated students who specifically want to develop their technical proficiency, aesthetic sensibility, and design expertise. The certificate program requires 15 credit hours in the Department of Art and Design in addition to 6 credit hours of prerequisite courses.
