Ohio Catalog
Licensed practical nurses and licensed vocational nurses (known as LPNs or LVNs, depending on the state in which they work) provide basic medical care. They work under the direction of registered nurses (RNs) and doctors. LPNs are responsible for administering basic nursing care and monitoring a patient’s health. The curriculum provides a balance of general education and nursing courses and has been developed to provide a strong foundation for academic progression in nursing. Carefully planned clinical laboratory experiences are an integral part of all nursing courses and encompass caring for persons in various age groups who need nursing care for a variety of reasons.
